As a member owned not for profit cooperative, Big Sandy RECC sets “cost based” rates, which are simply designed to cover the costs of providing power to our members. When costs increase beyond our operational ability to absorb, the rates must be adjusted to cover those costs. Over the past three years prices on the items required to build and maintain electric service continues to rise. As a result of continuing inflation Big Sandy RECC has filed for a rate adjustment with the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
